We’ll tell you about the rich history of the Lake Tahoe Basin, the plants, animals, and people that inhabit the place, and some of the amazing stories that are told here. Some of those stories might even be true.

Lake Tahoe Balloons was established in 1992. The company has successfully operated flights over Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valley for well over a decade. KAYAK TAHOE

Hey there Kayak lovers and soon to be stand-up paddle surf advocates. We have a lot to tell you about so let’s get started.

We now have a kayak rental location at Baldwin Beach (see rentals and locations), which is the closest public beach to Emerald Bay (about 1.5 miles to the entrance). While you should be active (running, biking, hiking ect.) people, many novices complete the 5-6 mile round trip to Fanmette Island in 4 hours and have been raving about the experience. This is world class scenery and paddling! Again, to complete the entire circumnavigation of Emerald Bay is a rigorous activity and recommended for active people only.

Want a little less vigorous paddling experience. Our guided Emerald Bay trips began and end in Emerald Bay. This trip offers an easy way to get on the water in Lake Tahoe’s most beautiful area, including a trip to Tahoe’s only island. Of course the Island as well as the entire bay is steeped in mystery, history and folklore. Of course our guides can fill you in on some of the highlights as well as wildlife, geology and other fun facts.


Our main location at Timber Cove Maria has the largest demo/rental fleet at the lake and we will make sure you get the proper kayak for your needs whether renting or buying. This is also the location where we have the biggest selection of stand-up paddle surfboards (SUS) for demo and sale. This location also offers a nice paddle to the largest marsh at Lake Tahoe and the largest diversity of wildlife at the lake.
